About BUCS
Bishop’s University Commerce Society (BUCS) promotes and enhances the undergraduate business student experience at Bishop’s University by representing student interests, inspiring leadership, and empowering students to realize their full potential. It also improves and promotes the reputation of the Williams School of Business outside of the Bishop’s community.
How You Can Get Involved
BUCS provides multiple outlets in which business students can get involved and network with other business students, professors, etc.
Our Events
BUCS puts together events monthly in order to enhance student engagement and introduce Bishop's business students to networking and the world of business. Some of our events include "Fun in the Sun", "Business Mixer", and "Wine & Cheese".
Our Office
The BUCS office, located in Hamilton 310, is a great place for students to stop by for any questions they may have about homework, BUCS, WSB or simply anything Bishop's related. Everyone is highly encouraged to come say hi when passing by!
Apply
BUCS is always looking for new students interested in getting directly involved with BUCS. A great way to do so is to apply for brand ambassador, director or vice-president positions when they become available. Open positions are announced on our Instagram.
Events
Throughout the academic year our amazing BUCS team promotes and organizes a variety of events for students to get involved in, these events not only help develop your networking and soft skills but also facilitates a genuine environment to make to new friends and build connections with professors, alumni and guest speakers. Below are some events that all business students should highly consider attending:
Business Mixers
BUCS hosts various business mixers throughout the semesters where business students get to network with potential employers, professors and fellow classmates.
Case Competitions
During the Fall and Winter semesters, BUCS hosts a case competition where students can learn about case comps and gain knowledge which can help if they want to do competitions in the future like JDC, JDCC and NIBS.
Beyond the Bubble
Beyond the Bubble is an event where WSB students get the opportunity to learn from WSB alumni. Students get to spend the day in Montreal learning from guest speakers from different business fields. These speakers are all BU alumni, and they speak about their experience at BU, their path and journey after Bishops and where they are now.
Fun in the Sun
A fun event hosted in the sun with games and snacks! This event is hosted at the beginning of the school year which means it is a great opportunity for students to meet friends in their class.
